Dimpleplasty is performed under local anesthetic and is considered an outpatient procedure. Dimples are created by making a tiny incision inside the cheek. There are no cuts on the outside of the face. A small piece of cheek muscle is removed and the remaining muscle is attached to the underside of the skin with a dissolvable suture. The incision on the inside of the cheek leaves an indentation in the skin, creating the dimple. Typically, this process takes about 20 – 30 minutes to complete. 

You can expect minimal swelling and minor discomfort, but these symptoms are temporary and can be eased with over the-counter pain medication or a cold compress. Specific aftercare instructions will also be provided and should be followed accordingly to ensure optimal healing. Initially, the dimples will seem fairly deep but will look more natural over time. Does it hurt?
